The
Proteco Roller
sliding gate kits are very popular; and can be applied to either wrought
iron or solid timber. A sliding gate can be used where a rising drive up
towards the house would prevent swing gates from opening, or where there
is limited parking space and the intrusion of a swing gate would reduce
any potential parking space. If you wish to retain the aesthetics of
swing gates, your blacksmith can supply you with a sliding gate that
looks like a pair of swing gates; the leaves are welded together and
slid along rather than swinging inwards. Maximum opening is limited only
by the length of the rack used. The kit is supplied with sufficient rack
for opening of up to 4.0m and additional rack lengths are available;
total gate weight is a more important factor than size.
